My Backyard Square Metre - by S2/3S
S2/3S have been studying their backyards this week for a presentation to their class. Their comments will be posted below.
In my speech something had been eating my tomatoes! And we still don't know what or who it is. I showed the children slides of my eaten tomatoes. by Toby
I talked about my tadpole pond, showing pictures of it and the life cycle of the tadpole. Some tadpoles were babies and some with legs and a stumpy tail. by Talia
I dressed up as a scientist and I brought in lots of samples of plants from the vegie garden.... spring onion, strawberries, beans and spinach. I also showed pictures of my garden. by Mia
I had lots of weeds in my 1m square garden.....my least favourite weed is one called Cobbler's Pegs because it sticks to your clothes when you touch it. However we know that tis is how some plants spread their seeds!! by Alan
I talked about all the flowers in my patch and how they change their colours. It was MORNING NOON AND NIGHT (Mrs Mc says she calls it YESTERDAY TODAY AND TOMORROW. I showed samples of the flowers as well as the dirt. by Sophie C
I acted as a grannie ant from my garden and showed samples of dirt and frangipanni flowers and named the 6 bushes around the tree - the 6 sisters. by Jess
